Review content:
I'm not surprised the postal system is in trouble. Though I've been assured to the contrary, it seems no coincidence that since the decision came down that LaGrange Park branch post office no longer handles the HOLD/Forward and SIGNATURE REQUIRED mail process, I've spent many hours in waiting in lines and had unpleasant contacts with and in the LaGrange Office. Missing, ""lost"" or ""in limbo"" packages, along with surly clerks caused me to end my involvement with Ebay purchases. Most recently, I had asked and completed paper work to have my mail forwarded to Dallas for 3 months- and despite my return home and filling out the RESUME delivery paperwork in early November, and several follw-up calls to the Postmistress and clerks am still having most first class mail sent to Dallas along with an occasional magazine. (For example, the Sept.13th NEWSWEEK arrived in Dallas yesterday, 12/26.) When I was in Dallas, I did NOT receive mail on a regular basis- in several documentable cases, not at all. (Wedding and shower invites, etc.) Of course, it's hard to know what else was not forwarded/received. Since the transfer of my long-time cherished and reliable route carrier last year (Mike) there has been a procession of anonymous and seemingly inattentive individuals ""servicing"" my route. Previously, I touted my mail service to any and all. Despite repeated assurances that the situation will be remedied I'm not holding my breath.
