Having traveled the world over, I have eaten in a variety of places from 5 star restaurants to street food stands. This place had rave reviews from different sources, so while in Sac I decided to give it a try. I dined with two others, so I was able to try three different things in one visit. To qualify my particular experience, I ate there at lunch and tried the apple walnut salad, rosemary chicken sandwich, and the burger. The salad was a pretty typical ""Northwest Style"" salad, but there was nothing about it to make me want to go back and have it again. The burger was cooked more than the customer requested, and the chicken sandwich was well cooked, though the rosemary did not seem to be included and and the pesto spread was too spare to give the proper balance of flavors between the bread, chicken, arugula, and tomato (though the bread was great and the chicken moist). The food was good, but not exceptional. If the price was lower, the moderate quality of the food would have been acceptable, but at the price, I was expecting more. I would have enjoyed it more if the atmosphere was more welcoming. It seemed like everyone there, customers and employees alike were so busy trying to be cool, cosmopolitan, and hip, that they were missing the point of a great dining experience, which to my very French taste, is about relating to others while enjoying excellent food. If the occasion arises, I might try a dinner there, though there are many other places to try in Sac before I will venture back.
