Check this place out for your family member!
My parent was a long-time resident of the Gardens, which is the assisted living part of the facility. The other residents became a second family - which was important because the ""first"" family mostly lived out of town.
The staff was fantastic - caring and professional. Many have been there a long time, and it is their second family too.
The facility was nicely maintained and they have a LOT of activities for the residents. There was a lot of respect for the resident - letting the resident feel and maintain their independence as much as possible.
As my parent's health declined toward the end of his life, we moved him to the Care Center, where he no longer had his own apartment, but instead a room with more active nursing oversight. Most of the staff there, esp. the nurses, are great. Some of the nurses' aides are not as responsive, though this might just be due to the fact they are overworked. I visited when he was first moved to the Care Center and I was grateful I was there to make sure he was kept dry, the phone was within reach, etc. After I returned home, I called the nursing station during the night shift to keep up with the status of my parent.
So overall I give the Gardens B+ and the Care Center B-.
I hope this is helpful in the tough process of finding the ""next home"" for your aging relative.
