I am a first-time dog owner and had questions for my dog's first vet to ensure I am knowledgeable about caring for her. Dr. Schlereth was dismissive and impatient. He lacked any sort of customer service or ability to relate to his patient or patient's owner. I was so excited to learn more about my dog and thought I would be receiving personal care at Banfield in La Jolla. I was so ready to be a life-time customer! Unfortunately, I left confused and disappointed. The nurse was almost apologetic...and far more helpful. The nurse even advised me that their Wellness program is not a savings for healthy young dogs - rather it can cost up to 2 - 5X more than I would normally pay if I just brought her in for her routine check-ups and bought maintenance meds online.
