Before visiting St Anthony Mobil, I had nothing but terrible luck with mechanics in the Twin Cities. I had a great experience at St Anthony Mobil - I will definitely go back and I will recommend the place to friends and family.
A few weeks ago my car started shaking the check engine light came on. I took it into St Anthony Mobil without an appointment and they did the diagnostic test for the check engine light right away while I watched. (I have actually paid $115 for this same test at another place, so I was partly thrilled to have them do it at no charge and partly horrified that I had once paid so much for it.) The mechanic asked if the problem occurred while it was raining and when I said yes, he sprayed water on the spark plug wires. Sure enough, the same shaking started again. Turns out I had a cracked spark plug wire, and it was quick, easy, and inexpensive to replace.
The highlights of this shop include:
- He showed me exactly what he was doing (with the check engine light test and spraying water on the plugs). I could see for myself what was going on, he had nothing to hide and I felt I could trust these mechanics.
- Got my car in right away with no appointment and had it ready for me the same day.
- Gave me a free loaner car while they did the work.
- Affordable and avoided additional unnecessary work. I asked if I needed to replace the spark plugs along with the wires and was told ""No, you don't need to do that yet. In another 10,000 miles you can do that.""
- Friendly and courteous.
