Oh, sure...the apartments look pretty enough on the surface...new appliances and carpet, fresh paint and molding. Trouble is, the place was so hastily slapped together that it's falling apart. I've lived in about a dozen apartments so I know where to find faults, and I didn't have to look to far. First, a note to non-smokers. The renovators were definately smoking in our unit. Took a month for the stench to clear out. Fortunately, we had an inch and a half gap under our front door, so we got plenty of air...and insects. Our dishwasher wasn't hooked up. There were at least 15 screws of various sizes strewn about the carpet (I eventually started using them to hang bathroom fixtures). Some of these screws were to the cabinets, which were shoddily installed. The cabinet to my trash can fell off in my hand, while another above the sink drooped sadly. None of our windows sealed OR locked, making for a cold apartment. And whenever we run the heater, our hot water becomes non-existent, thanks to the rickety heating system (which leaked for the first week). Still, it takes an average of 2-3 minutes for the water to start getting warm even if we don't run the heater for 2 weeks. Bad for our water bill, and the environment! And yes, it's the same system in every unit. Our mail key didn't work, and it took the office staff two weeks to get a replacement! They said they needed the mailman to change the lock, and - darn, wouldn't you know it - they could never seem to catch him. Finally my wife told them to leave a note on the mailbox and boom...new key the next day. The maintenance guy they sent to fix our problems actually managed to make the situation worse! He SHUT OFF OUR WATER HEATER, put excessive holes in the front door (without fixing it), and couldn't figure out how to change a cabinet screw. The landscapers mow around the gobs of dog poo on the grass. Whenever we brought a complaint to the staff, they'd just shrug at us. Don't be my neighbor. Pros: nice appliances, big closets Cons: Lost of dog poo everywhere, really bad maintanence, poor management
