Review content:
We tried Danton's last night and loved the fried seafood, gumbo and authentic dirty rice! No waiting for a table - yet - since they're just getting started. The decor is comfortable and classy and we chose a comfy booth but will return for the Oyster Bar happy hour! I ordered stuffed fried shrimp entree and gumbo appetizer. Gosh the gumbo is even better than my Maw Maws with thick oysters, shrimp, crab and more importantly, dark authentic roux! I had to try their fried gulf oysters which were delicious and not over-fried. Hubby had the fried butterflied shrimp but felt the dirty rice was too spicy for his taste. I will never eat at Pappadeaux's again after discovering Danton's gulf coast cooking at old-school prices!
Pros: Superb southern gulf coast seafood and oysters!
Cons: no Shiner Bock
