I LOVE to shop thrift stores, but when I go into to Goodwill in Athens AL, I always leave aggravated & unhappy. Not because I don't get fabulous deals, it's because the ladies that work their, are not very nice. One in-particular really gets under my skin. At one time, I went in several times a month, but I'm good to go in once a month now. This lady actually said, "I know, it's ugly, but I don't like her...You can tell she thinks she's better." She made sure that I knew she was talking about me. How much better can I think I am? I mean, I'm shopping at the GoodWill. I've been in several times, when w/ no warning they turn the lights out. I understand, they're ready to go home, but they close at 5pm, they shouldn't turn the lights out on shoppers at 4:40. I work in retail, & that's not how I do business! I know, other customers were very aggrivated because they had items in their carts, but when the lights went out w/out any warning, they left the cart sitting right where is was, & left the store w/out buying a thing. A few need a real attitude adjustment! I easily spend $75-$125 each time I go in, but I rarely shop there now. I'm just one customer, & they've lost thousands from me alone. I've heard others say, "I won't go in there! I don't care how good the deals are! I refuse to be treated the way those "ladies" treat me". I am glad the regular manager is finally back, & the lady that was running the place is no longer in charge. She may not have been in charge anyway, but I assumed by the way she talked to the others, she was the boss. I have NEVER given any of them any reason to disrespect me! In fact, I'm probably nicer when I go in, because they're so grumpy, but their negativity is contagious, & I always leave in a bad mood! It's bad when workers with bad attitudes & manors keep you from shopping at a business, that is supposed to be giving back to the community! As if the service isn't bad enough, the building is old, falling apart, & it smells.
