It's never a good time for your car to break down. Needless to say, it happens and when you're in a new town you can only hope to find someone as honest and straight forward as Francisco.
I had been calling repair shops and dealerships for most of the morning and when I found Francisco's Auto Repair I decided to give them a call as well.
Being able to determine in a phone conversation if someone is trust worthy is a hard task, but there was instantly a rapport that Francisco was able to build with me. In his words, I was able to feel something unique .. and it was honesty.
I didn't expect a mechanic to be able to tell me what is wrong with my car over the phone, but I was hoping to find someone that would give me the feeling that I wasn't going to be taken to the cleaners with the work they did. Francisco was truthful in telling me that he didn't know what was wrong with my car, but that he knew how to figure it out. He was understanding with my budget, and he went the extra mile to earn my business as a first time customer; offering to cover half the cost of towing to his shop.
It's never a big thing that makes the difference on whom you choose to do business, yet after hearing that he provides a warranty for his work is a step in the right direction. He helped me cover some of the cost of towing my vehicle to his shop, was working on it before I left, and even arranged a shuttle to take me home.
While my hopes are that my car never breaks down, I realize now that when it does, I'm taking it to Francisco. He does great work and stands behind it.
