Review content:
When my ac stopped working, I called Neerings because I recognized the name. When they came out to fix my ac, the tech said that my ac unit was leaking fluid, and because the unit is above the furnace, it would light on fire if they tried to fix it. So, they would have to replace the entire unit: $2,963 was my bid.
I called for a 2nd opinion from a different company. Turns out that all I needed was a new filter. The ""fluid"" was WATER condensation from the ac unit- it had frozen. There was also a small amount of mineral oil. But for that to light on fire, it would need a tremendous amount of heat, which is not even plausible (I called Neerings, told them what happened, and they agreed that this 'problem' is impossible). Neerings also failed to mention that my ac unit has a warranty on it until 2015!!!! Even if it was broken, I should have not paid anything except labor.
So for the cost of a new air filter & a $75 service charge from the new company, my ac is fixed. I'll take that fee over Neering's bid any day.
