Last week, one of our servers suddenly crashed due to a hard drive failure. We immediately took steps and contacted our hard drive supplier to correct the issue by replacing the hard drive.
For reasons we have not yet researched, the replacement HDD also failed. And this process was repeated yet another time with the third consecutive HDD failure, until about 12 hours later when the HDD was diagnosed stable.
We have no idea what caused the repeated crashes, and we don't have an explanation beyond the generic ""hardware failure"" provided by our hard drive supplier.
We called on Secure Data Recovery Services to recover our lost data. They were available to work with us until a significant portion of the data was recovered and the main issue resolved. The result is that early this morning we now have a secure server and around 90% of our data recovered.
We were afraid it would be much worse, but they surprised us - they had very good success with recovering everything they could find. We are pretty satisfied with Secure Data Recovery Services. They gave us good support, not just the data recovery itself, but also restoring everything to a working state, so we give them 5 stars.
