If I could give this place and Dr. Strash a negative star rating, I would! I went to them suspecting a stress fracture in my foot. All information online including the website at Alamo Foot and Ankle care confirms you need an MRI to accurately diagnose a stress fracture. After waiting an hour after my appointed time, I was taken directly to a regular X-ray machine. I told the girl I would prefer to not pay for an x-ray that would not give me the diagnosis I need and to just go straight to an MRI...I was told "oh no...this will tell us what we need...I promise" Well, another 30 minutes later I was told, "We can't see what we need from this x-ray, we need an MRI." Nearly $600.00 in, I was then told that I didn't have a stress fracture and I must have bunions from wearing tight shoes. I work at home and have not worn shoes in over 4 years and have never worn tight shoes. When I said this, Dr. Strash just shrugged his shoulders and then told me the injury wouldn't heal without a steroid shot. He wanted to use an ultra sound to determine the point of aggravation. He did not mention this would be another $400.00 It cost me a total of $1000.00 to be given no diagnosis and a steroid shot. DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC! THEY DONT VALUE OR RESPECT YOU AS CLIENT AND WILL TREAT YOU LIKE AN ATM MACHINE. I later spoke with a cross country friend who is a a leading sports medicine doctor and shared this experience...he agreed, these business practices are unethical at best and Dr. Strash is a Quack at worst. My friend recommended going to an orthopedist rather than a podiatrist as the standard of education is much higher and there are far fewer shady characters.
