Review content:
As a customer, I have never been so disregarded and have never received poorer service at a place of business before. I purchased a bridesmaids dress from Pearl's Place and was informed that the alterations would be included. I was instructed to come to Pearl's Place between opening and 2pm in order to be measured by a seamstress. I reside 86 miles from Pearl's Place and have a newborn baby. I asked the receptionist if there would be any problem when I showed up for alterations and she assured me if i came in, I would receive service. The first day I drove to Pearl's Place, I was told they would not be seeing any more customers for alterations that day and was asked to return the following day. I informed her that i lived 87 miles away and had just driven in town to have my dress altered. She promised that if i returned the following Saturday that a note would be placed on my dress for the workers to see and I would definitely be serviced. I returned the following Saturday at 1pm and was told the same thing. They were not going to see anyone else. I instructed her to refer to a note left on my dress. She went away for 5 minutes and returned saying that they were too busy to see me. The shortest wait time would be 4 hours and asked me to come back. I returned the following Saturday even earlier than before and was told THE SAME THING; they would not be able to see me. This time I had my 8 week old infant with me because i was sure that they would take into consideration that this was my third time traveling to the dress shop to take care of my dress. I informed her that this was my third time being turned away and she told me I could be seen that day. After waiting for 2 hours sitting on a window sill, I asked to speak to a manager. A lady, Elaine, came out as though she was bothered that a customer asked for her. I informed her of the situation and she rudely replied, ""Well, I would not travel that far to come here for alterations if i were you, with a baby..."" She said they do not take into consideration if you'd been turned away before, and when asked if she cared she replied, ""No, because this is a free service, so..."" She said they do not do appointment because people don't show up. Unless the seamstresses are working for free and the shop is using no revenue from their income to pay the seamstresses, then it is NOT a FREE service. The cost is included in the price of the dress. I had to continue to wait and waited a total of 4 hours WITH a newborn baby in the shop sitting on a window sill. I had to change diapers, feed a baby, comfort him and no workers ever thought to check on me or any of the other customers who were waiting. Their actions, especially Elaine's, were surely morally reprehensible and I feel as though this matter should be addressed. If they did not have a no refunds policy, I would get my money back and order my dress elsewhere because this company who is only concerned with profit and not the customer, does not deserve to profit. My observation is that this company advertises ""alterations included"" and attempts to make the process entirely inconvenient so that you will not utilize their services and they do not have to pay to alter your dress from the money you've paid for the dress. After my dress was paid in full, the company attempted to turn me away 3 times and on the final time when i agreed to wait a short time to be seen, i was waiting for 4 hours in extremely uncomfortable conditions and was totally disregarded.
