Having recently moved out a couple weeks ago, I feel safe writing a truthful and honest review about this despicable slum called Arterra. After moving in on a Saturday everything seemed to be going fine until three days later when I woke up to Kent PD yelling at someone to get on the ground. I looked out the window and saw four plain clothes detectives wearing soft body armor. Two officers had handguns and one was holding a shotgun at a black male in what appeared to be his mid 20's dressed in baggy clothing. The fourth officer was holstering his firearm and proceeded to handcuff the individual. I knew this was only a precursor of what to expect for the next 12 months of my lease. I came to find out through the manager that this man had been stealing local cars. I was told by neighbors that a couple months prior an apartment had been raided by SWAT for dealing drugs. I actually walked to the apartment where this happened and sure enough there was a dent in the middle of the door from a battering ram and in the hall there were holes all along the ceiling and walls from the concussion of a flash-bang grenade. It turns out the concussion pushed the walls inward and actually pulled several dozen nails out of the wall when the wall flexed back. A couple months passed and after having gas siphoned from my car twice I no longer left my car sitting outside of the garage, not even for a couple minutes. I would dare say most of the families here are Section 8 as they do not value their homes by littering the walkways with an abundance of garbage (every single day), bringing shopping carts home and leaving them behind parked cars, on the grass, over a curb, etc (every single day). There are several large groups of children who scream at the top of their lungs ALL DAY LONG. These kids will block the path of oncoming cars in the parking lot and will not move until they've decided you've waited long enough. What's worse is the parents of these children are nowhere in sight. If you happen to bring up these issues with a parent they will take it as a personal attack on their children and will take a relatively minor issue out of proportion by starting a fight with you after they have called for the men in their family to back them up. Kids should not be punting footballs in a parking lot between cars. Many tenants park along the fire lane making it impossible to get in or out of your garage. If you ask them to move they will take it as an insult and will see to it that the remaining days on your lease are spent as uncomfortably as possible. Any adults here who are minorities will give you the stink eye when you're walking along minding your own business. You can hear rap music played very loudly with the bass turned up at all hours. People who have lost their garage door openers will honk their horn until someone runs down to the garage and opens the door. This has literally happened every single day at all hours of the night. My family and I have been woken up many dozens of times from honking. loud music, screaming kids & fighting neighbors. I personally witnessed drug deals nearly every day. I have actually seen money and drugs change hands. The people here are as rude as they come. FedEx was once unwise enough to leave a package on my doorstep without knocking. Inside was a brand new cellphone. It was stolen from my porch, but luckily whoever took it will never be able to activate it. Security would only drive through, straight past the cars parked in the fire lane. Security actually stopped coming to Arterra a few months before my lease ended. Please look somewhere else. Arterra is not a safe place, especially for a family.
