Review content:
I was in a wedding May 2012. The bride chose this store for her bridal gown and for the bridesmaids dresses. Everything started off fine but once the dress came in, it required some major alterations. The lady sized the dress while it was on me and she put the pins in so she would know where to take the dress in and even said that she would have the lady make it just a little tighter than what it was pinned. Three days later, I went to pick the dress up and I was charged $30 for the alterations; in total I paid $217-- $25 because I ordered the dress late and $30 for alterations. When I got the dress home, It was extremely wrinkled. I called the store to ask if the dress had been pressed. The lady in the store confirmed that the dress was pressed but said that it may have gotten wrinkle in transition from wherever it was altered and being bought back to the store. She stated that the dress was packed in a box and suggested that I try getting the wrinkles out with a hot blow drier. I noticed that the other bridesmaid dresses were wrinkled as well. When it was time to get dressed for the wedding, I put my dress on and immediately noticed that it was still entirely too big. It appeared to not have been altered at all and we spent about one hour trying to safety pin the dress to fit. The Monday after the wedding, I called the store and informed the lady that I paid $30 to have the dress altered and it was still too big. She asked me to bring the dress in which I did and she had me to try it on. She began pinning the dress again but I told her that I no longer needed the dress altered because the wedding was over and I knew I would never wear the dress again. She said that since I paid for it they were gonna fix it because they could not refund my money. Uh, HELLO! I paid to have the dress fit me for the wedding. The purpose of me buying the dress and spending so much money on the dress was for the wedding. The wedding had come and gone already and my money was wasted. I don't need the alterations now, I paid to have them done for the wedding! It's not even logical for me to care about how the dress fits now because I am most certain that I will never wear it again, I only needed it for one purpose. She did not apologize and was not empathetic at all. She didn't seem moved at all. If you buy a dress from this store, I would suggest taking it somewhere else to have it altered. $30 is a lot of money to have wasted. My experience with this store wass disappointing and I would never ever do business with Anitra's again.
