Our chihuahua 'Itty-Bit' had a double hernia that needed surgery. Dr. Riddick was so sweet with her, she knew right away what all needed to be done, she explained every part of the procedure ahead of time, and she even gave her something to calm her down and let us stay and love her until she was comfortable (to make seperation easier) before surgery. When we left our baby right before the surgery, she was comfortable and at ease, which made it much easier on our family. When we picked her up the next morning, she was happy to see us, and she didn't act distressed over the situation. She has never been boarded, so this was a very tense time for us, but Dr. Riddick calmed our anxieties as much as Itty-Bit's. Her care and concern go beyond the pet. A couple of months later we were back with our other chihuahua 'Tigger' with some unusual knots on her stomach that Dr. Riddick said had the appearance of a particular type of mammory tumor, but before we could even get concerned about the possibility of tumors, she said ""I just want to get a better look at this, is it ok if I take a little fluid out of them and look at it under the microscope before we do anything else?"" Before she jumped into an expensive surgery, she drew fluid, looked at it herself, and sent it to a lab to double check her own findings, and they were not tumors. There was nothing to worry about, and she calmed my nerves before I even had a chance to get upset. She gave me the option to remove the knots if I wanted to, but it wasn't necessary, just cosmetic. She loves her 'people' clients, as well as, her 'pet' clients. Anyone who meets Dr. Riddick can tell how much she loves animals. It is quite obvious that veterinarian medicine is not her job, it is her life.
