Murat fully won my trust when, after we had looked through dozens and dozens of rugs and I had picked out a couple that I wanted to take home for a test run, he actually suggested to me that I also try one that was significantly less expensive--but in its own way just as beautiful. There's no hard sell, just his honest opinion and an uncanny knack for quickly figuring out his customers' tastes, great value and an approachable warmth. The gallery isn't big, but the selection is wide-ranging enough to suit most people's tastes--and if you want really big, just go to ABC. If anything, this is the anti-ABC--extraordinary personal service (Murat will bring the rugs to your house himself for you to try); unbeatable prices; unassailable quality; and none of the intimidation and attitude that you get at one of the warehouse-sized places.
