Review content:
I used to be stationed with the US Navy in Belle Chasse for 8 years and ate at Salvos on a weekly basis. I have never had bad food there. This is the one place I bring all of my friends and family. When I was transferred to Florida, I had a friend bring me one of their shrimp Po'boys! It wasn't AS good after being frozen, but it was still good. Every single time I return to New Orleans, I am sure to drive those extra few miles over to the Westbank to eat at Salvos at least more than once while visiting. Belle Chasse is a friendly community and those working at Salvos show that southern hospitality. They are super friendly and love to talk with their customers. To me, although the atmosphere is not elegant, it is still 5 star. Large groups of people are always eating there and you are served more than enough food. The seafood is the best. I didn't even like seafood before I ate at Salvos! Expect tables or picnic table dining with huge trays of seafood. Shrimp, frog legs, crawfish, clams, catfish and oysters. Daily lunch specials and all you can eat dinners at prices that are unbelievably reasonable. A DON'T MISS SPOT! Pros: Prices, serving amounts, friendly staff, best tasting seafood ever! Cons: None! Just take it for what it is!
