We were pretty definite that we had a slab leak, and I contacted Daniel at Splash Plumbing. He said that some people would say that you only need an electronic leak finder, but that he didn't think it was a complete analysis unless we used a line locator also. They did the electronic leak finder and then followed it up with the line location in the slab to find out what was really wrong. That way we could see whether it was better to repair certain spots or consider different options. They started out very clear about what their service was. Once they determined the leak we started talking about options, and what we could do to repair it. Daniel was very upfront. He told me that their estimate was likely going to be higher than some, but he feels that the quality of their work matches it. He was very upfront. They gave us an estimate that included 2 or 3 options that we could either choose or not. We took two of the options they suggested, including having the hot water pipes insulated, and a third option we didn't choose. They were very clear in their estimate. Ultimately we had the house repiped completely. They went and searched to make a decision on where to drill holes to bring the lines in and up through the crawl space and attic. They were clear in their planning for where they would make holes in order to be the least intrusive possible in terms of repairs. They were able to do it without drilling into the bathroom with wallpaper, but instead into the bedroom and other bathroom where there was just flat wall. The plans were good, the work was good, and they came in and got it done really quickly. The same guy who did the leak location and line location ended up being the guy who did most of the work with his assistant. That was nice because he already knew the house and what was going on. I really appreciated that they were upfront in the beginning about their price and quality, and that they were honest in their recommendations. They gave us alternatives. Splash Plumbing was everything I was looking for.
