Review content:
If you are not familiar with Paul's Pasta, it won't take long for you to figure the place out. It may not look like much from the street, but Paul's Pasta is what it is. It is an unpretintious, small restaurant in the off-beat Groton City waterfront. The owners, Paul and Dorothy, like it small with a friendly local atmosphere. The wait staff are friendly and very helpful. Paul and Dororthy's teenage boys can be caught in the dining room or in the kitchen helping out. Over the years they have kept their restaurant pretty much the same. It is small, with a limited number of tables inside. In the spring and fall, the deck is open for great outdoor dining. As you can guess, the menu is pretty much all pasta based. But the menu offers many varied selections. There are always two or three specials on the chalkboard everyday for lunch and dinner. The pasta is always fresh, cut and cooked to order. My favorite is Paul's Chicken Diablo which offers a whole chicken breast sauteed with mushrooms in a light creamy lemon and dijon sauce served over angel hair pasta. Their lobster ravioli with alfredo sauce is tremendous as well. The fettucini alfredo is a favorite with my kids. It is hard, but try to leave some room for dessert. They have some awesome selections of cakes including Bailey's Irish Cream, dark chocolate and carrot cakes. Their prices are very reasonable for the quality and size of portions. Take Paul's Pasta for what it is, a small family run restaurant which offers a great selection of pasta based meals in a cozy and friendly atmosphere for a great price. You can't go wrong here. A word of caution, Paul's Pasta is very popular so be prepared for a wait if you arrive at peak dining hours. We usually go aroung 5pm to avoid the crowd.
Pros: Great selection of fresh pasta dishes, great service, great value.
Cons: Small dining room, may have to wait at peak dining hours.
