Lots of places have gorgeous silk fabrics and curtains, but you stil have to order from a swatch. The Curtain Exchange lets you ""check out"" actual panels, which are easy to hang on your window so that you can see what your actual curtain will look like. For someone like me, who has a hard time visualizing, it's a lifesaver. I took home three pairs before I finally made a choice, and they were very patient every time. I love my new curtains. They really updated our dining room. The fabrics are very luxurious, and the curtains are much better made than those you get from catalogues. If you're lucky enough to be able to use one of the consignment treatments (many leftover from designer showhouses), you can get some of the most expensive fabrics available at bargain prices. Great service too.
