I 've been a customer since 1985, a time when the customer mattered & your pet always saw the same vetinairian who knew & understood your pet. There's no consideration taken when; a long standing customer, own many pets, on a fixed income, payment plans. Also, over priced medication, a friend of mine is a pharmacist & was shocked to see what I was paying for thyroid med, she said I could get the same med @ a local pharmacy, yep she nailed it (I had been throwing $ away). I saved over $50 going to Walgreens. When asking for a call back - you can forget it, I even had an employee call me back in less than 5 min. & asked what did I call for, she didn't write it down. The only reason I have stayed a customer is because they are practically across the street from me & the extended hrs., in an emergency, time is critical. They used to have many savings plans, like every month on a specific day dental cleaning was cheaper, now you have to wait until Feb. & only then. If you were short on $ you (used to) could pay them next time. So forget about discounts, you may as well shop around. I had a sick puppy there and I did not know at the time there is no staff after 9pm. Well some time between then & morning he had chewed away the wrapping that attached the i.v., as a result he had gone into cardiac arrest, when someone did check on him, they tried to revive him but failed. The place is very clean and quit, & the vetinarians do call you after they have seen your pet (if you did a drop off), and the other cusomers are great to talk to as well. I hate when I make an appointment and 1hr. later they see you (this is the norm). So if time, $ and having a consistent vet is not an issue then they are no better than the next place. I think $ is the only goal, not like the old days. I'm seeing someone else and they are great, I told him I was on SSD & he gave me a discount (a new customer even) and allowed me to setup a payment plan, bad thing is his office hrs. are that of a bank.
