I called and placed a $60 takeout order for the weekend, my second order in a week. I am planning on being a regular customer. I want a loaf of sour cream bread. The man on the phone says there isn't any. I walk in and there it is. I order 2 mint fudge, 2 coconut fudge, and 2 heavenly hash brownies. The man on the phone says there are no coconut fudge brownies. I go in and there they are. The man on the phone says they do have mint fudge brownies. I go in and there they are?not. The guys working in the bakery ask me if I want coconut fudge instead of the mint. Ok, so I get what I think are 2 coconut fudges. I ordered 2 lemon bars. I ordered French toast and biscuits and gravy. I get home and root around in the sack of brownies and peek in the other bags and don't see the lemon bars. I reluctantly call the bakery; I hate doing things like this. The man on the phone sounds defensive and abruptly says he packed the lemon bars himself with the chicken sandwiches (as opposed to being in the sack with the brownies ? HELLO?). I go through the sack with the chicken sandwiches; there they are at the bottom puny as vanilla wafers under the chicken sandwiches. My bad. But honestly they were so tiny and how many folks would think to check under the chicken salad sandwiches when you have a sack full of brownies they should go in? I also asked where were the heavenly hash brownies then while I was rooting around under the chicken salad sandiwiches it occurred to me maybe just maybe the brown and black brownies I thought were peanut butter fudge were heavenly hash. And they were. My fault again. But I did not order 4 coconut fudge brownies. I wanted 2 coconut and 2 mint. My brownie order was totally screwed up. Oh well. HOWEVER, the heavenly hash brownies were delicious, the coconut fudge brownies were OK, the lemon bars were fantastic even though they were itty bitty, the sour cream bread was pretty good, the French toast stuffed with cream cheese was DIVINE. I did not get biscuits and gravy for me, but my partner says they were some of the best he ever had. So I will still be a regular customer. It would be nice if a couple of the people who worked in there could be a little friendlier. They leave you standing around like an idiot, too. And there are no labels or prices on most of the food; it is hard to figure out what you want. They promote takeout ordering on their website. I would strongly suggest online ordering as well; that way, everything is easier, and there is no confusion.
