My dog has been going to the Doggie Daycare for quite some time now. As an extremely friendly, playful and well-socialized dog I felt doggie daycare would be a great option for exercise and play while I am at work. The fees are high compared to others in the area and have even risen since I first started taking her. Despite this, I continued to bring my dog there - the people are all pretty friendly and seem to genuinely love dogs...however, my dog has been injured there so many times I'm beginning to wonder if they are even watching the dogs. Not one time did anyone point out an injury to me. When ever I would question what had happened, no one could ever give me answer. In addition to the high daycare fees, I have spent 100's of dollars on vet care needed because of these injuries, including office visits, stitches and antibiotics to prevent infection of wounds (only once - after complaining, did they comp the vet fees). I understand that animals are just that, animals...and they play rough sometimes, but I can leave my dog in a field full of other dogs and walk away for free...I pay them to watch her and make sure she is in a safe environment. If at any time there was a reason why she should not be attending, they should have let me know. I feel their greatest concern is money, not the well-being of the beloved pets, who are like children to many of the people who bring them there. I will not be bringing my dog back to this place because of all of the incidents that have occured, the last a ""trauma wound"" on her neck that was so swollen she couldn't wear a collar for three days, but went unnoticed by staff. After all of these incidents, I would have to blame myself if something really serious happened. Maybe my situation is an isolated one, I hope so for the sake of the other dogs who go there.
