My husband and I were remodeling our house back in June 2010, and we went to 109 to check out their flooring. 1st day I went they were closing, like at 3pm. Ok, whatever. We went back in a couple more days, found some flooring we like, and purchased it. Here comes the problem. My hubby started laying the floor. It just wasn't working out correctly. Our house is over 100yrs old, so we thought it was the house throwing the flooring off. My hubby got frustrated and gave up. So, we hired my brother to lay the flooring. My brother is very experienced at laying flooring I might addd. My brother got right to work the next day. While my brother was laying the floor, I was painting one of the bedrooms. He called me in the Dining Room and showed me why the flooring wasn't going together correctly for my husband. Some of the boxes were cut properly where the floor goes together, some were cut way to much and were breaking. Needless to say I went and checked all the boxes and loaded up the defective ones. Took the defective flooring back to 109 Bargain the next day, showed them the defective pieces, and told them they were not going together right. Then the very large man proceeded to tell me there was nothing wrong with the flooring that we were doing it wrong, had some little Hispanic guy throw it together on the floor right in front of me. I showed him how the flooring was cut to much in the groove where it goes together. He told me it is suppose to be like that. He didn't know me very well, cause when I know I am right, I will argue with you til the cows come home (literally). The whole time I was arguing with the guy, my husband hanging his head embarrassed cause he knows I was getting ready to show my butt. We stood there for 30 minutes (maybe longer), back and forth, and finally he saw that I was right. All of the flooring I brought back was cut wrong. Once he realized that, he was very apologetic and even gave me a floor cleaner marked at $39.00 (they probably paid $5 for it). They finally switched out the defective flooring and we were on our way home. Heck, the very large man even called us while we were on our way home, giving us some line of crap on how and why the flooring was defective. What happen to the saying, the customer is always right? Guess they have never heard of that one.
