My Grandfather was in this facility for short term physical rehabilitation after having surgery. The time that he spent there was not worth all the trouble that we had during his release. The staff is well trained in taking care of the patients and the physical therapists are very good at what they do. What we didn't like about the center was the lack of communication to the family members regarding the discharge of the patients. We had a long discussion with the social worker when we first admitted my Grandfather that we needed adequate notice of when he would be discharged and what the procedure would be and how long it would take for us to come and check him out. We were told that we would get 48 hour notice...that did not happen, the social worker did not call us, we had to call her to get the status of his discharge. We had to call twice and she did not get back to us until Friday morning and she told us that he would be discharged the next day, on Saturday. We were also told on Friday that the staff was aware that he will be discharged and that the paperwork was all set up, all we had to do was come in and verify his belongings and they would provide us with a weeks worth of medications and he HAD to be out by 11 am because they do not get paid for the day from medicare. None of that turned out to be true, when we got there no one knew that he was going to be leaving, they did not have orders from the doctor and could not contact the social worker because the phone number she had on file was no longer current. The only reason that we got out of there in a timely fashion was because we had to be very firm with the staff and told them that we were leaving and they had to get everything done by 11 am. We did finally leave after 11:30. And later that night when I was giving my grandfather his nightly medication we noticed that one of the medication was empty, they gave us an empty container of his medication! Needless to say the we are very dissatisfied with the lack of communication in this center and WILL NOT be recommending this place to anyone and if we have to use a facility again for any reason it will not be Reo Vista.
