Car mechanics are on my list of ""avoid, if possible"" - unfortunately, one cannot avoid them unless you're a car mechanic yourself, or have a friend who is one. Putting car stuff off to the last minute is kind of my thing, it's kind of like my hair, I don't bother until it's just so bad I can't avoid it anymore. I found these guys in the phone book over a year ago. I had a light on my dash that I was ignoring until finally I thought I'd better go have it checked out. They were friendly, didn't charge me (it just didn't get reset from the oil change at some other place), and didn't try to pressure me in any way. Recently, I went in again. Here's what I have to say about them. They're super nice. The owner took me home and came to get me when they were done with my car. He's friendly, chatty, and as we talked I could tell he was on the up and up (he mentioned that it's a well known fact that mechanics are number one on the ""hate"" list of most people). I trust these guys. I've dealt with three of them so far, they polite, they're not trying to up-sell you anything and the do quality work.
