While visiting Montego Bay, West Indies,
I became a new woman,
and felt peace overlooking,
the saphire blue ocean.
I witnessed a breath- taking sunset
while sipping rum drink,
ans was serenaded by
a beautiful chocolate man
with an infecttious smile.
I traveled to the birthplaces of
Marcus garvey, Bob Marley, and Harry
Belafonte. I felt the ancestors
greeting my spirit and the joy of
being alive.
I came to seek my destiny at
Dunn's River Falls,
a glorious waterfall
that reminded me of a wedding cake
with iridesent frosting.
Ibegan my quest at ocean level,
carefully climbing along a left
wall where ridge like steps
magically appeared.
The cascading water invigorated and
Soothed my soul, washed away my
defenses. The climb like life,
had stumbles, falls, and unknown pathways,
but I climbedhigher, higher, seeking my destiny.
