My husband and I were looking for a very special way to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary with our 2 young children (ages 3 1/2 and 1 1/2). After looking across the Carribean,our travel agent suggested Cancun and specifically the Azul Sensatori Resort. It was a good recommendation. First impressions of the resort had everything we were looking for - a luxurious resort that was kid-friendly and a quick 2 hour flight from Houston. we proceeded straight to the Lomas travel agent outside the airport. He was very friendly and took us straight to the Lincoln Navigator waiting for us.
At the resort, we were greeted pleasantly and champagne was on ice at the check in desk. We knew we were on vacation! My daughter (the 3 1/2 year old) promptly found the kids check in desk with the toys available for loan in the rooms. We had a relaxing lunch at Spoon and found the Kids Club.
The Kids Club was fantastically fantastic! Having partnered with ""My Gym"" AND ""Fisher Price"", the Azul Sensatori resort has created a very special oasis for kids. The main room is HUGE and has a ball pit, trampoline, balance beam, climbing wall, and other tumbling equipment. There are 7 additional rooms surrounding the main room - everything from the dollhouse/kitchen room to the fisher price room to the nap room to the playstation/tv room - the kids club had it all! We had pre-arranged for a sitter to help us on our 2nd night there. Frankly, we were extremely nervous about leaving our children alone in Mexico with a sitter, however, once we met the Kids Club staff and understood that they would also be our babysitter, the nervousness immediately melted away. The Kids Club staff were so wonderful with the kids and we had absolute trust of our children in their care.
We finally made it to our room and were pleasantly surprised to be upgraded to the Honeymoon suite. The suite had a fabulous water view and wrap around balcony. We made sure to confirm a crib would be available in the room and it was brought within minutes of us getting into the room - and this wasn't just any hotel portable playpen/crib. This wooden crib was just as luxurious as the bed mom and dad were sleeping in!
Day 2 was fabulous and ended with our vow renewal ceremony. We had worked with the wedding planner in advance and they were very good about following up on the smallest of details and keeping me on track to make sure that all was in order. We started the evening with pictures - the photographer was on time and very friendly. We told him we wanted more family photos than ceremony photos and he certainly gave us hundreds of very special photos of the evening. The flowers, the ceremony, the babysitter that helped us tend the children during the evening, the romantic beachside candle light steak and lobster dinner with champagne for 2, everything was wonderful!
