I bought my wedding dress from Bridals by Jodi, and A Stitch Witch was their recommended seamstress. My family lives in Charleston, however, I live in Columbia. It wasn't a huge inconvenience to drive down on the weekends for fittings, so I decided to go with A Stitch Witch. From the first fitting, they were unorganized and rude. My dress was all lace and had a deep V. This worked because I am not busty, so the V in the front did not look too sexy, just pretty. I explained to the girl that I did not want cups sewn into my dress, and just wanted the top to lie flat on my chest. The next time that I went to try it on, they had sewn cups in and as a result, the boning in the bust now protruded out. The cups also pushed what small breasts I have together. I looked like a mess! So, the next weekend, I went down. When I arrived, they were not open yet, so I had to wait in the parking lot until they got there. When I tried on the dress again, the cups were out, but that was all they had done. The dress now fit those cups, and did not come close to laying flat to my body. The white haired lady, that I suppose is ?The Stitch Witch? (one part of that description seems about right) did not have any suggestions on how to make it the way that I wanted, and just said that was how the dress was made by the factory. I was beginning to get to my breaking point and just accept the fact that my dress would look wrong. My 7-month pregnant sister pulled me into the dressing room, yanked the dress all around to mold it to my body. She then demanded that the, for lack of better description, white haired lady, come into the dressing room. My sister then proceeded to do a better job than anyone at this establishment had done in the past, and show the lady where she would need to sew in order to make the dress lay flat. So we left, only to have to come back the next weekend. Now we are getting down to the wire. It was only two weeks away from the big day. We didn?t have any more time for mistakes.
