My boyfriend and I went to Fishbones on 8/18/07. We were looking forward to it as he had a craving for crawfish and I was jonesing for some bread pudding. We ordered the crawfish boil appetizer then jambalaya and southern fried catfish for dinner. No sooner had a server come out with the crawfish (mumbling something about mussels??) then the waitress appeared with our entrees. She didn't seem to notice we weren't anywhere near ready for the entrees and continued to come back to the table repeadetly asking how things were when obviously we hadn't touched them. The dinner salads were mostly iceberg lettuce (I would expect better considering the prices). My boyfriend complained that his jambalaya was mostly rice and sauce, with very little sausage and seafood. My catfish was unremarkable at best, though at least it was still warm by the time I got to it. When we had clearly finished our dinners, our waitress was nowhere to be seen. She finally materialized when our drinks were gone asking if we wanted another round. At that point, even bread pudding wasn't going to salvage the experience so we asked for our bill and went across the street for soft serve instead. Considering the prices, this place seems to skimp on everything. Pros: one of the few places with creole cuisine in metro Detroit Cons: mediocre food, poor service, high prices for the quality
