Review content:
I have used Cowboys twice since I moved into my house and have been severely dissapointed both times. They first replaced both of my AC units- condensers and coils (the upstairs coils was dead, the downstairs was old and dying, the outside units dated from 1974). While the intalled everything neatly, my contract CLEARLY stated that I was to get SEER-16 units, and it was only when I went to file for the tax credit that I discovered that they had installed SEER-14 units. When I asked about this, they informed me that something within the furnace (variable fan speed?) would only allow me to get SEER-14 efficiency from the units, thus they installed SEER-14 units. They also stated there was no need to change the furnaces because ""they last forever."" After some arguing, they did agree to refund me the amount that I would have gotten for the tax credit, and then proceeded to send me a check for $300 less than what the tax credit would be. Fast forward 6 months to the fall inspection. They now find the downstairs furnace has a crack in the heat-exchange (have to shut it off per regulatory code) and when testing the upstairs unit, the motherboard ""conveniently"" goes out. Now I cannot use either unit. So I eventually agree to have them replace both units. And what do they replace them with? The lowest quality, lowest efficiency units that are available on the market. Not to mention the fact that they are about 3 times louder than the previous units (made in 1993). Did they inform me that they were going to do that? No. Did they even offer or discuss any other model options, efficiency needs, or anything of the sort? No. Now I get to spend my time trying to find out if the new furnaces even match the efficiency of my old units and are compatible with my AC untis. My suggestion- stay far, far away from this company. There are plenty of others to choose from- go with one of them.
