My husband and I went on a date here and were very disappointed. We had been excited to go because of the history of the house. We love historic homes. When you walk in, the restaurant smelled dingy and felt outdated and unkept. The hostesses were dressed very casually. The room we were seated in was the Garden room (a porch) and smelled moldy, like the basement of an old house. We were there for dinner and were disappointed to have old plastic table covers that had holes in it, paper napkins and very old and abused silverware. The carpet was worn and dirty and the everything in that room really needed to be replaced. I had heard from many sources that the food was wonderful. I was hoping it would be because the prices were high. Well, I couldn't even eat my meal. It was awful. I couldn't believe the condition of the rest of the restaurant. The owner needs to open his/her eyes and realize what a beautiful house that is and make changes. What a waste. The entire upstairs was awful too with hideous red tablecloths and plastic covered metal chairs. I will be telling everyone I know what an awful visit we had.
