I can't even begin to tell you how amazing this place is. My poor 14 year old kitty started drooling 2 weeks ago and I brought her to VCA Abbott in Worcester to have her checked out. They told me her teeth were horrible and she needed them cleaned and possibly some extracted to the tune of $900. They also said she had some swelling under her tongue and that it could be from her stage 4 periodontal disease in her teeth. I left there with some antibiotics to try and feeling uneasy and untrusting of their diagnosis. 5 days later my kitty wasn't getting better, she was getting worse and seemed really uncomfortable and unable to eat at all. I got a recommendation to go to Mt. Wachusett Veterinary Hospital from a family friend that had a good experience there recently. I called them and got an appointment that day. When the doctor took a look at my kitty - she saw right away that she had a massive aggressive tumor in her mouth - and assured me that it was inoperable and that it had nothing to do with her teeth - in fact her teeth weren't bad at all. Unfortunately I had to put my love to sleep as she could not eat and nothing could be done to heal her. It was the hardest decision of my life and there is no way I could have done it without the amazing compassion from the vet and the vet tech in the room with me. She explained everything and assured me that I was doing the right thing and really cared about my cat. She let me take as much time as I needed and was so gentle with my kitty even after she passed. She gave me a big hug before I left as well. I wouldn't bring any pet anywhere else - as they explained all of my options, gave true advice and all with care and compassion. Abbott is the worst and Mt. Wachusett is the best. I can't thank them enough for helping me through this extremely difficult time of losing my best friend.
