Review content:
Being slightly addicted to the Food Network, I was very excited to get the chance to experience the food of the legendary Paula Deen. What a disappointment. First of all, her face is plastered over every open space, which starts to look creepy after a while. When we showed up for our appointment, we were told to walk through the gift shop to the waiting area. Yes, they forced us to walk through the gift shop in order to get to our seats. We were then told to walk upstairs to another host in order to be seated, where we stood in line for the third time. My husband commented that the whole experience felt like we were at a Disneyland ride. The staff was polite, but stiff, making the experience feel even more like an animatronic amusement park ride. As for the food, it was average, at best. Everything was literally swimming in a pool of butter, and I think my husband and I make better fried chicken at home. The only thing that was worthy of a second visit was the lemonade, which was fantastic. Overall, it was a very disillusioning trip. Instead of a passion for food, I saw a corporation desperate for our money. Extremely disappointing.
Pros: Now that I've gone, I never have to go again.
Cons: Fake/corporate atmosphere, overpriced buffet with average food
