VERY UNHAPPY with Banfield in High Point on Eastchester Dr!! Took my Lucy girl in for a leg amputation due to osteosarcoma on Friday, was told when I got there that they had tried to call me the day before and that the doctor that was going to do it had taken an extended leave so I had 3 options. One they could refer me to another vet, 2 keep her comfortable until the cancer spread (not an option) 3 euthanize her (not an option). What really made me mad is the fact that IF I had wanted her put down and not already choosing the leg amputation I would not have invested almost $600.00 with Banfield to begin with (office visits, pain meds, x rays, and biopsy), I would not have been in on Tuesday asking for them to do the surgery sooner because she was in pain. So I feel they had NO CLUE on what I wanted for my Lucy nor did they really care. But the office manager then went on to state ""I will forward Lucy's records to Thomasville Veterinarian clinic and I will call you to check on Lucy tomorrow. Also if you have any other pets we will waive the office visit for you for the inconvenience."" I made sure they had my correct phone number before I left because I felt that I would not get a call and I wanted to make sure there were no excuses, well this is Monday and I have not had one call from any one from Banfield to check on Lucy! So to anyone considering any major surgery on their pets make sure to reconsider taking them to Banfield on Eastchester. Not only do they appear to really not truly care about their patients but they do not follow up with them either. When I got to Thomasville Vet her records were not there and they NEVER sent over her x rays. So I paid Thomasville Vet for another set of x rays and they started back from ground zero with Lucy. Thomasville Vet has a 24 hour staff, Banfield was going to send her home the same afternoon after surgery. Lucy is still with Thomasville, appears to be doing well, they are working on helping her learn to walk on 3 legs, she is sitting up by herself now and eating! I do not have any ill feelings towards the doctor that took leave, I do not know his circumstances. I do hope that he and his family are well. But Banfield over all.... Well I think anyone who has a pet can understand how I feel!!
