Review content:
I have 3 cats (Ozzy 8, Charlotte 7, and Mason 6) that I have taken to the same vet most of their life very happily; or so I thought. Mason is a bit of special needs cat, but past some questioning history given to me it was never sure what was really true there. Ozzy has had a skin condition I have been fighting with for the last 5+ years where he chews all the hair off his stomach and grooms constantly. I have changed about everything that I had ever cleaned with, brands of litter, and had to finally go through periods of giving him pills everyday for months to try and control it. Still it didn't help much. I then moved to West Chester to be with my fiancee and toiled about what to do for a vet. Then Mason got another kidney infection and I was pushed. I spent the night searching reviews for a good vet and finding little or nothing out there. I had passed the Cat Care Hospital several times and began feeling like this is where I needed to be. I called in the morning to explain what was going on and they got me in the same day. No hassle about not seeing him before, no questioning looks about my explaination of what I knew about Mason, and smiles when I showed up. Dr Baxter came in and asked a few questions all the while petting, talking to, and examining Mason. He was friendly (to my Fiancee and I as well), and very caring the entire time. To keep this short he made me forget about the vet I had used for so long and question how good she really was. He took the time to get it right and didn't hurry in and out as so many do. I really was hoping this wasn't just a one time act. I made an appointment and brought Ozzy up. Ozzy is not an easy cat for a vet. He becomed defensive immediately, gets LOUD, and even becomes a bit aggressive towards me. Through all this Dr Baxter was calm and dealt with it perfectly. Before we left Dr Baxter was confindent in what he thought was wrong with Ozzy. He told me that he was sure Ozzy was allergic to chicken (and possibly poultry) and that he needed to be weened off of it and fed a diet with none of that in it. He also spent a good deal of his time to talk to me about food and what the TRUE meaning of all those ingredience are and mean (I learned so much). Finding a cat food without chicken/poultry is very hard to do. My cats all eat together and so they all are being weened over. Also, he explained the probiotics and importants of them for cats. It has been about six weeks now and the difference is very impressive! Ozzy's belly is normal colored, hair is growing, he is softer, and he has become very loving and even tempered with his new diet!
