Review content:
Had lunch there with an old friend. We wanted a place that was quiet with good atmosphere, food, service, and wine. I had been watching the Chappy's TV ads and thought it was worth a try. We arrived soon after the restaurant opened at 11:00 a.m. on a weekday. Seating was immediate and a waiter arrived at our table reasonably quickly. However, after that, it was a good thing that we weren't in a hurry. The service began to degrade and continued to do so the longer we were there. There appeared to be only 2 members of the wait staff handling the entire restuarant. Chappy made an appearance but never really got close to our table. Otherwise, I would have told him that there was no excuse for such poor service when there was such a small number of diners. The food was good but nowhere near the class of food at restaurants I have visited in New Orleans. Both the food and the wine were somewhat over priced. My friend and I had two appetizers, a main course, and 2 glasses of wine. The total bill with tips was $70.00. That is a bit high for lunch. I don't predict a long run for Chappy unless he improves the service and realizes that most people don't have 2 hours for lunch on a business day. From what I've read, I don't really have the time, patience, or money to visit on a Saturday night.
Pros: Nice atmosphere
Cons: Poor service, far from outstanding food, overpriced
