Review content:
I went to Animal Specialty Center a few times and the cost was a little high, but definitely lower than New York City vets. After about a year, I went in one day and my bill (for the same exact procedures in the past) was DOUBLED. Almost $600 for some basic tests! I thought for sure that they charged me double for everything by mistake, but when I called they said they hadn't...the bill was legit. They said that in the few months since I had last been there, their prices had risen. Well, raising prices is one thing, but all their prices were now doubled! They were now a LOT higher than NYC vets. I found out from some others that Animal Specialty Center has been facing extreme financial problems almost from the day they opened their doors. Their solution? Double the cost of EVERYTHING. You don't raise your prices that much and expect to make up for your struggling budget. You LOSE clients that way. I knew, as soon as I saw that bill, that they would probably be going out of business soon. I was wondering that day in the waiting room why so many people were complaining and arguing with their pet's doctors and the cashier about the total of their bills. I've also heard from another Veterinary clinic that when they refer people to Animal Specialty Center, the people say ""Can't you refer me to someplace else? I don't want to go there again"". Supposedly there have been a lot of problems besides money issues. The pet care is suffering as well. Trust me, they won't be around long. I vowed that I would never set foot up there again and I haven't. P.S. Don't let the ""one star"" rating fool you. You can't post a comment unless you give this place a rating. So consider my ""star"" a negative. If I could I would give them a negative 5 stars.
