I was very disappointed when I went to the cemetary today...the day after Thanksgiving to put flowers on graves of my loved ones. There were several graves that were decorated with wreaths and trees and flowers for the season. We placed flowers on the graves of our family and left and called our daughter to ask her to check on them and make sure that they didn't blow away She informed me that there was a sign at the cemetary that indicated they would be cleaning the cemetary on 12/3, but she would go get the flowers and put them back after the 3rd. We didn't see the signs when we drove in and obviously neither did a lot of other people. There are dozens of graves that are decorated for the Christmas season at the expense of a lot of money and emotion. I called the office and was told that everything that was on the graves would be thrown away on the 3rd. This is very upsetting for me. Why would you take everything away after Thanksgiving knowing that people decorated graves for the holidays? This just doesn't make sense to me. I can't even imagine the heartache people will feel when they go back and the graves of their loved ones have nothing on them! Why do this on the 3rd of December and not before Thanksgiving? I feel like this is very insensitive on the part of the cemetary management. What is the justification? I'm asking you PLEASE don't take the decorations off of the graves until after the holidays!!!!!
