I was a customer for several years and they just suddently stopped picking up my Trash. They had been known to bypass me before so I didn;t think much about it until the second week when by without a pickup. I called and asked what was going on and was told I hadn't paid my bill. I told them I had paid every bill I had received and all they needed to do was send me one. I was informed they didn't send duplicate bills and I would need to drive across town to pay their bill. I suspect they had sent one since it's just an automatic thing that their billing computers handle, but I didn't receive it. Anyway, a reminder notice or simple phone call would have resulted in immediate payment. I did what they required but told my wife if they ever pulled something like that again they wouldn't have me for a customer. About a year later they stopped picking up my trash again. No bills, no calls, nothing. I decided that was enough and called another service. I never heard from BFI again so just figured they didn't care about losing their customers. Just learned receintly they hit my credit report with a $39 charge-off back in 2003. I would guess it''s a partial month charge for the time between when they stopped picking up my trash until the time they came out a few weeks later to pick up there trash container. But I don't know for sure since they haven't ever sent a bill. My only advice would be that there are other companies out they that won't treat you this way. Why take a chance, go with a company that cares about it's customers. Cons: Doesn't even make an effort to provide customer service.
