Review content:
just went here for my first facial. upon arrival i was escorted into the zen waiting/lounging room, and offered home made apple cider, lemon spring water, or tea. after taking one minute to fill out a no-frills skin survey, i promptly drifted off to sleep...in the waiting room. slightly embarrassing, though no one else seemed to mind. i assume this happens often. the relaxing atmosphere of this spa is so calming and inviting that i did not need a magazine (though there are plenty, from environmentally concious to woman's day, placed in simple rows, not unsightly piles) or a pillow (plenty of these too) to relax. the stone fountain, the low lights, the subtle candlelight and scent, the wall hangings and the faint music all made me feel hidden and comforted and lulled me to sleep. i also enjoyed the lack of pushiness from most of the staff. some spas and salons hound their guests to "get comfortable". here, they acted as my guides, not my pushers. the facialist was a supreme expert. as my skin tends to be very delicate and sensitive, ready to hive at the slightist foreign substance administered, i was amazed how it had little to no negative reaction to any of the products or process. gayle massaged and efoliated in a perfectly balanced manner, not too hard, not too soft. the steam and mists, the creams and lotions, the toner and mask were administered with such care. she uses yonka only-an exquisite plant, fruit, and marine based french skincare line that trumps all others. she also took the time with me afterwards to explain what products she used and how my skin seems to behave. so very helpful and kind, i was very appreciative for her advice and for the two samples she gave me to try at home. i highly recommend this spa and gayle. even though i probably cannot afford such luxury, i will be back. the soulful relaxation alone is worth it. Pros: ambience, skill, product, professionalism Cons: having to leave
