I was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer in 2003, and interviewed about 4 surgeons. I met Dr. Kristi Funk, who was at the Cedars Breast Ctr at the time, and she immediately did an ultrasound, and showed me my tumor. I asked a million questions, and learned an enormous volume of info. right there and then from Kristi. Her manner is completely candid, direct, and lovely. She gave me many options, explained the reality of my cancer in laymen terms, which enabled me to get my head around this diagnosis, and eased my complete panic. I immediately knew she was the Dr. for me. The morning before she performed my surgery, I was filled with anxiety, and the moment I saw Dr. Funk, ALL of my fear disappeared, I knew she would take care of me. I actually had a dream about Lake Como during my surgery, woke up feeling fresh, and lucky. Dr. Kristi Funk did a beautiful surgery, left me intact, and confident. I think the other thing that I appreciate about being her patient, is that she is very pro-active about prevention, and has suggested new
