I was selling my bike and had several offers on it from private buyers and the used bike sales manager, Jeff, called me and said he would match it and offer me and extra $50 on top. I told him I had other people ready to buy the bike right then and I didn't want to tell them no and then the dealer back out and end up giving me a different price. He gave me this speech about how they are a dealer and they don't do things like that and they have a "reputation to uphold" so he gave me his guarantee that he would buy the bike for the price he said he would. When I got down there he started telling me all these things that were wrong with the bike that could clearly be seen in the ad that I posted and then he offered me something much lower than what he promised. All he had to say was "I can't make a serious offer on the bike until I look at it." Instead Jeff just told me exactly what I wanted to hear and didn't give a crap about his word at all. The bottom line is these people scam you and have no integrity. Do not believe anything they tell you or take their word for it. Unless you have it in writing they won't stick to it.
