Businiess name:  Discount Tire
Review by:  citysearch c.
Review content:
This is the brand new discount tire location which moved from: 5615 Broadway Boulevard, Garland, TX, 75043-3642, (972) 240-0208 (this # is also the new stores phone number). I found some tires online at tirerack:com and I called around to see if anyone carried them, and no one had my size. Then I found out that discount could order my size so I went to the store on 11/29/2011 and placed a special order and discount agreed to price match tirerack for $93 lower than their price of $100 per tire. I opted out of the disposal fee which cost $11.96 for four tires, and I agreed to pay extra for the "TPMS Rebuild Kit" which cost $29.96 for four tires because the guy said it would be in my best interest to change the seals so they will not leak when the new tires are put on because the seals get worn out over time (he also told me a story about some lady that had her one of her tires go flat one morning because she opted out of the service, and she had to go back to discount and change out the seals) so I purchased the service. I came back 8 days later once they got my tires (original estimate to get tires was 3 days) - not a big deal, I understand shipping delays... They said they would take about 45 min to do the job, so I decided to sit in front of the window that faces the work bay area, finally they started working on my car and I began to watch them as they went through the process of taking my old tires and balancing weights off, on lubing up the new tires and putting them on the machine to mount the new tires- all without touching the TPMS which I had paid to get serviced. I waited until they mounted three tires just in-case they were about to perform the service, they did not- so I let a service guy know about the situation and he immediately went out into the bay and asked the two guys working on my tires if they had preformed the TPMS service- they said no, then he told them to stop and perform the service, so I watched the service guys begin to un-mount the tires they had put on and take off the sensors and replace the seals, then he called me over to the computer and apologized that they did not perform the service and refunded me the cost of the TPMS rebuild ($32.43 w/ tax) and said they would perform the service in spite of their mistake, and he was sorry, and that they should have preformed the service the first time- I said okay... Finally they were finished and told me my car was ready, I asked the guy where my old tires were because I opted out of the tire disposal service, he told me to pull back around as he gets the tires, which they had accidentally tossed into their area of junk tires (I wanted to take them home)... Finally he gets all my tires and I load them all up into the car- as I am about to leave the parking lot I stop and check all the tires and notice that the metal nitrogen valve stem caps (cost $4-5) I had were replaced by some cheap $.10 plastic caps. At that point I was frustrated that they did not do the TPMS rebuild which I had paid for the first time, opted me into a disposal service I did not request, and on top of that took the metal valve stem caps off and did not even give them back. Now you know why I gave this place two stars: do not pay for the TPMS rebuild because they will not do this service in the first place, do not pay for your tires to be disposed because they will do that anyway, and lastly take off your valve stem caps because they like to steal these- you have been warned about this location and its practices. The only reason I gave this place only 2 stars in-spite of all the BS which happened was because they priced matched the tires I wanted and special ordered them for me- if these were a regular set of tires, without the price matching this would be a 1 star review. Pros: null Cons: null
