When our Dog Beanie hurt his back in Colorado a few years ago, we drove strait through to Jerseyville to have Dr. Vanwalligan treat him. We trust Dr Vanwalligan so much that it was worth it to us to get Beanie there, no matter how far the drive. The Vet in Colorado said it would be ok if we didn't move him a lot, so we took out and when we got there early in the morning, Ginger saw us in the Parking Lot when she came in. She had us come in and as soon as Dr. Vanwalligen got the message, he came right in and decided to do surgery. He preferred to have a scan done, but didn't have one,and we trusted him. So, he proceeded to do the surgery. After the surgery, Beanie needed to go to St. Louis for Rehab. The Doctors there did the x-ray - scan, and said that it was a very good job on the surgery. We did not expect Beanie to walk again, but after the Rehab in St. Louis and Dr. Vanwalligans care, he walked in 16 months. He did stagger and fall, but he walked. I had to hold his tail for the 16 months until he could do it on his own. We didn't give up on him and just kept working with him. Thank you Dr. Vanwalligan soooooo much for that. A few years later, Beanie had Cancer in his liver, and Dr. Vanwalligan operated and took a lobe of his liver out and pieces of the other. He told us that he did all he could and maybe he bought him a little more time. He had operated on Beanies back legs a few years before the Back injury because they were so bad. I would recommend Dr. Vanwalligan hands down. He is a caring Dr. for sure. Beanie was shy of 6 days being 13yrs. when he passed away in Las Vegas, NV. The Cancer had spread, and there was nothing more that we could do. Beanie was happy and playful until 2days before he passed. We will always thank Dr. Vanwalligan for doing all he could to make Beanie comfortable and happy as long as he could.
