Dear unhappy June Bride: Amie when your Mother called to let the office know your items were going to be returned a day late the person answering the phone told your Mom ok but never went over any late fees because management does that. When I came into the office from lunch I saw the note that the items were going to be returned a full late and called the first number on the contract to let you know items are charged a late fee and got your voice mail. I am very sorry you did not understand the contract that items had to be returned on Monday which is clearly stated. I am very Sorry the facility was closed on Monday. You should have know in advance that the facility would be closed and made appropriate arrangements. It is not Affordable Party Rentals fault your place was closed. A few things that were said to me on the phone gave me the impression that you just didn't want to pay a late fee at any cause and that no matter what you were right and I was wrong. That I was unethically and immoral and a bad business person. You Mother actually stated to me that rules were made to be broken, and that all contract had Gray areas. Mine does not have gray areas it actually states in three different places that items are charged time out until they are returned. And a return date is printed on the contract. You also stated that if you had known of late fees your mother would have jumped the fence at the facility and gotten the items. The facility was closed so you were telling me that your mom was going to break the law and trespass to get items. So from those statements your family has no regard to rules and laws, and contracts and feel it should be your way or no way. Grand Events or Mahaffy or any other Rental company in Town would have charged you a late fee. Now the difference in what I charged you and them would be that I only charged you half of another rental of $161 instead of another full rental of $322.
