Review content:
To start off, I had an initial consultation with Joe in his office that was supposed to be $50 which we had discussed prior. This some how turned into a $175 first time consultation and I should have never looked back. I decided to retain Joe simply for the fact he was slightly cheaper than most local attorneys and he was willing to work with my budget, setting up a payment plan. Every visit I went to it seemed as though I had to waste about a half hour or more explaining my case all over again or listen to him ramble on about how Hennepin County judges are a bunch of Martians. If this wasn't frustrating enough, I felt as though Joe was always full of a bunch of crap. He told me all throughout our visits how he could do this and that and my child support was going to be around $60 a month based on how much parenting time I have. He also told me a bunch of what turned out to be b.s. by saying I had a great chance of getting joint custody. Wow, was he wrong! We went to court on two separate occasions for my case and each time he showed up late to court and seemed very unprepared. During the court hearing, he was often interrupted by the judges saying that the proceedures he was trying to lead were not how Hennepin County runs things. Since Joe is more familiar with Anoka County, he should have taken the time to become more familiar with my case, especially after he had received $3000 of my money. Long story short, I fired him after my second court hearing and he failed to get me anywhere. About a month later, I received a brand new random bill for $1800?!?! He had charged me for all kinds of bogus charges and even down to the paper he sent me the new bill on! This law office is hard up for money and does a horrible job at communicating among their staff and with you as a client paying TONS of money! I just want everyone to be forewarned because this guy will take your money and get you no further in the courts than you can get yourself. Now that I fired Joe, I am doing much better on my own with custody and child support and not spending the thousands of dollars on Joe. One more thing I should have saw as a larger red flag...Joe told me that SO many people owe him money and lots of men complain about his services....hmmmm, wonder why?! This guy is a jackass and his law office should be shut down!!!
