Review content:
My dog was showing signs of Lyme disease (arthritis that appeared in the span of a week, loss of appetite, sluggish, etc.) when we took her in. The first time she was diagnosed with arthritis and put on pain medication, and we were told to bring her in for a recheck in two weeks. When we did, I asked to have her test for Lyme so we could either rule that out or begin treatment for that. At first the vet refused, telling me several times, "she wouldn't have lyme down here, there's no way." I demanded the Lyme test anyway, and within an hour, the vet called me to say, "I can't believe it; the Lyme test was positive." Needless to say, my dog now has a new vet. We now go to Animal Hospital West, and my dog has recovered well.
