Review content:
We were super excited to find an Indian buffet close to a place we visit frequently in Altamonte. Unfortunately we couldn't have been more disappointed by the food. First the good. The mint chutney was seriously the best I've ever had in my entire life, and the rice was acceptable. My husband kind of liked the cabbage curry. The buffet was clearly labeled, neat, and clean. Also, nothing was greasy at all, a rarity for Indian food. That's it for the good. They yellow dal was mushy and had a horrible taste to it, the mixed vegetable curry was really bland and made with the frozen bagged mixed vegetables that have lima beans in them, and the chana masala tasted rancid to me. The tamarind chutney and rice pudding were both watery and weak. The raita was creamy and light, but had so much stuff in it that it tasted like veggie cream cheese, NOT a neutral condiment used for cooling a dish's heat level without altering its flavor. We were surprised that there wasn't a single dish on the buffet with paneer in it, and we really missed it. The service was acceptable but confused, and the decor is exactly what you'd expect at an Indian restaurant: flashy, tacky renovated 80's diner with damaged walls. The biggest surprise was the naan. It was terrible; burned on the outside and barely cooked in the middle. Honestly, no matter how bad the food, I've never seen an Indian place screw up the naan. Still shaking my head.
